NIMFest - King Park Concert Series
The NIMFest summer concert series presented by the City of Newport opens Sunday, June 25 from 3-6pm at the King Park gazebo on Wellington Avene and runs Sundays through Aug 27. Free and open to the public with lawn seating. Made possible by a gift from Mrs. Dorrance H. Hamilton. The 2017 series honors Women In Music in a range of styles, pop, blues, folk, rock, jazz, ethnic and eclectic.

Gloria Gemma Flames of Hope Run/Walk Series
Pink spirit will be everywhere as competitive athletes and not-so-competitive walkers and runners participate in the Gloria Gemma Run/Walk Series. The series begins at 9am with the Kids Fun Run, a sprint down the hill on Francis Street open to children ages 5-12. At 10am, the Pink Pump Palooza a 50-yard dash will kick off. Grab your pink pumps and join local companies and politicians cross the finish line. At 11am, 5K participants wearing â€œpink spiritâ€ will race and walk their way through historic downtown Providence. Prizes will be awarded for the fastest times and highest fundraisers.
