Touch-A-Truck,” a family-friendly outdoor event to benefit Child & Family and its Sandpipers Early Learning Center, will be held Saturday, September 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Child & Family parking lot at 31 John Clarke Road in Middletown. Guests should park in the nearby parking lot at the corner of Johnny Cake Hill road and John Clarke Road. The event rain date is Saturday, September 30.
Children of all ages can see and touch approximately ten vehicles, including Middletown Fire Department fire and rescue trucks, a Rhode Island State Police cruiser, a dump truck, a bulldozer, excavator, tractor and more. Other activities include a canine demonstration by the Middletown Police Department, face painting, a photo booth, Kindermusik, TumbleBus and supervised play in the Sandpipers’ playground. Kids can also visit with the characters “Elsa” and “Anna” from the movie “Frozen.” Refreshments, including Del’s Lemonade, will be available for sale.
The entrance fee is $15 per family, or $10 for families with a child currently enrolled in the Sandpipers Early Learning Center at Child & Family. Reservations are not required and no tickets will be sold in advance.
